TSOP-40 SMT ZIF socket

This is a 40 pin zif socket that can be installed on Xbox motherboard (rev 1.0-1.4)
This gives you the ability to hotswap TSOP chips to reflash them.

1.0-1.1 - 1mb, 40 pin TSOP Chip
1.2-1.4 - 256kb, 32 pin TSOP Chip
1.6 - NOT COMPATIBLE, NO TSOP CHIP

You must keep the chip sizes original to the board. Don't try putting a 256kb (32 pin) TSOP chip on a 1.0-1.1 socketed board, or a 1mb TSOP chip on a socketed 1.2-1.4.
You can use a 1.4 board with a socket to flash a TSOP chip to install on a 1.2 or 1.3 though as all 3 of these board revisions use the same size TSOP chip.

This is an advanced install so unless you have the skills or an installer lined up to install it for you, it would be best to pass on this one or contact me via chat to arrange install service for it. This is more of a shop tool for working on these consoles than a fun & cool mod that somebody would want to have in their gaming setup. Soldering and desoldering TSOP chips is part of the normal use of owning a board with this socket however this install is a little bit more complicated than just installing a TSOP chip on its own. You have to remove the EEPROM chip to install the socket and then reinstall the EEPROM chip when the socket is soldered onto the motherboard. If you mess up and have to use a heat gun to adjust it, the heat gun will simply melt/destroy the socket. You really only get one chance at installing it.
