The Jafar Chip is an updated and upgraded version of the popular budget mod chip Aladdin. Jafar provides 4 times the memory space, OS support using Xblast OS, and is designed to be a very easy install. There are 2 variants of the Jafar chip:
- The Xblast Jafar variant is a triple bank chip with a 512kb bank and a 256kb to work with and an "Operating System" 256kb bank. The chip boot's from the OS bank and will only let you flash Xblast OS files to its OS bank. Xblast OS will always remain on this chip and it controls the loading of the open banks via software control in the on screen menu. Xblast also has many other features.
- The Jafar Chip variant is a dual 512kb bank chip with manual (switch) controlled bank selection. It comes pre-flashed with Xblast on both banks and It's recommended to never flash bank 2 so as to maintain access to Xblast OS from the chip whenever it's needed. This variant will overwrite Xblast when you flash a bios to the bank that you have selected. It only see's 512kb at any given time.

Installation

1.0-1.4 - Install the header on the motherboard as pictured. Then attach a wire to D0 on the bottom of the motherboard and attach the other side of the wire to the D0 pad on the chip. You can connect D0 on the motherboard to ground on the motherboard for a "no wire" installation like the previous Jafar gen however it is highly recommended to let the Jafar Chip control the D0 line.

1.6 - This motherboard has several traces removed from it's LPC port. You'll need to install the LPC Rebuild board with the header (or use the wire method after the header is installed) to rebuild the the missing traces. 1.6 does not have "D0" but it does have an equivalent called "L-Frame." DO NOT USE the mis-labeled "D0" jumper pad on the LPC rebuild board. The L-Frame line is fed into the chip through the LPC port and is connected to the Jafar chip with a solder jumper on the chip itself. You have to solder the 2 pads of the L-Frame jumper together to activate that Jafar Chip's L-Frame support. No wires need to be soldered onto this jumper. It is HIGHLY recommended to use the chip to control L-Frame and not ground it like in the previous version of this chip. Grounding L-Frame causes extra heat to build up in the MCPX (southbridge processor) chip and with extended use can cause risk of damage tot his processor.

IMPORTANT NOTE - Jafar and Xblast Jafar (Gen 5) is not Aladdin and is not like the previous version of this chip. You must pay attention to these details or the chip WILL NOT work correctly for you.
The D0 pad on the Gen 3 Jafar chip is connected to one of the mosfet pads and the mosfet was left off the chips that I made because it wasn't coded to use it properly. Because there was no mosfet on the boards the D0 pad wasn't actually connected to anything. Gen 3 also had no L-Frame support for 1.6 motherboards. - GEN 3 Install - If you are working with a Gen 3 Jafar and are looking for the install diagrams for the previous gen, you can find the listing for the discontinued Xblast Jafar Chip HERE and the discontinued Jafar Chip HERE.

- Each chip is tested before shipping and guaranteed to be working correctly. I assemble these myself and they don't get packaged without successful testing
- I will not help with obtaining bios files or flashing. Flashing instructions can be found in the flash section of the Xblast OS manual, written by Xblast's designer.
- I am not liable for damage to this chip or your Xbox motherboard due to improper installs however I will take Jafar chips back in for diagnosis and repairs if you mess it up. Just communicate with me.
- Due to the "DIY install" nature of this item I do not accept returns however if you are having problems, please contact me and I will help troubleshoot and do my best to take care of the issue.

Why Choose The Jafar Chip Over The Classic Aladdin Chip
- The Jafar chip is a reworked version of the well known "Aladdin XT+4032 XT PLUS2" chip for the OG Xbox with upgrades in both memory and PCB design.
- Jafar has 4 times the flash memory space. Instead of Aladdin's 256kb memory chip, the Jafar has a full 1mb of memory.
- The Aladdin has bugs in the original board that are worked out in the Jafar. Aladdin uses the 5v pin to power the LED which is fine for 1.0-1.4 because its 5v pin is switched, but on 1.6 the 5v pin is NOT switched. On a 1.6, If the Aladdin is installed incorrectly the LED does not turn off when you power your Xbox console off. If you install an Aladdin correctly on 1.6, you have to remove the 5v pin and wire switched 5v in from a different location on the motherboard. Jafar works with the 3.3v pin, which is switched in all Xbox revisions, so you don't have to wire switched 5v in from another location on 1.6. The Jafar's LED turns off when you power off your console on ALL motherboards.
- Modern batches of Aladdin chips are coming from suppliers with counterfeit SST memory chips that can't be flashed in an Xbox console. You have to purchase a programmer to flash these chips with a PC. Both versions of the Jafar chip can be flashed in the Xbox console.

- Xblast OS is a legal and free Bios replacement code that is derived from Gentoox Loader.
- Gentoox Loader is a legal and free Bios replacement code that is derived from FlashBIOS.
- FlashBIOS is a legal and free Bios replacement code that is derived from Cromwell.
- Cromwell is a legal and free Bios replacement code that is capable of loading Linux.
- Linux is an open source operating system (OS).
- An operating system is the software that directly manages a system's hardware and resources, like CPU, memory, and storage.

Xblast OS is simply a Linux based utility Operating System.
Xblast OS contains NO copyrighted code.
Xblast OS cannot circumvent the security mechanism of an Xbox console.
Xblast OS does not provide functionality to load:
- Games (retail discs, copied discs, or hard drive-ripped)
- Dashes (OEM or modded/custom)
- Homebrew (utilities or games)
- Any other executable files of any kind

Xblast works on all motherboard revisions. With Xblast OS you can backup your EEPROM, Format a Hard drive, and flash bios over network, from HDD, or from Cd/DVD ROM. It also has a very nice feature of being able to test 128mb ram installs. When you're running Xblast you're able to install one RAM chip at a time and the console will still boot for testing. This is not the case with other mod chips. Having a chip with Xblast on hand for 128mb ram installs is quite nice if you're going to be doing multiple installs. It can be a very helpful shop tool for a technician as well as a good hard mod method for a player.
