DVD Delete Adapter
DVD Delete Adapter
The DVD delete is a small adapter that will trick the motherboard into thinking that there's a DVD drive plugged in with the tray in, and in idle mode.
Some hard mod bioses can be programmed to delete the DVD drive via software while others (including the OEM bios) cannot. This adapter will trick these bioses into thinking the DVD drive is there so you can load software from the hard drive without any loading issues.
Both versions do the same thing, the only difference between the 2 is the black wires are longer and more rigid whereas the yellow wires are shorter and more flexible. They both have a red LED in them to verify that it's plugged in and operating correctly.
These are great for a build that has no DVD drive and is not running a "NO DVD" bios, or they're great just to have around the shop for working on boards. I use them in my bench boxes that I test Jafar chips and hotswap flash TSOP chips with.
