This listing is a collection of install kits, parts, and tools used to internally install a Wii2HDMI or ElectronAnalog HDMI board in an OG Xbox.
Please read this listing and the PDF guide in full before ordering to make sure you're ordering all of the parts you will need.
INTERNAL INSTALL KITS
ElectronAnalog (1.0-1.4)
This is a kit designed to install an ElectronAnalog circuit board inside of a 1.0-1.4 Original Xbox. This is an easy upper board to attach to the ElectronAnalog since all of the points connect directly, board to board, with no wires.
KIT INCLUDES - 1 adapter board set (lower & upper,) new hardware (2 screws & 2 washers,) and a 3D printed faceplate bezel.
1.6 MOTHERBOARD WARNING - Due to the higher profile of the Xcalibur video encoder chip on 1.6 motherboards, the upper will not sit flat against the lower if you attempt to install this. See the PDF guide @ step 6.B for more details.
ElectronAnalog (1.0-1.6)
This is a kit designed to install an ElectronAnalog circuit board inside of any Original Xbox (1.0-1.6). This upper board is designed to fit around the higher profile of the 1.6 Xcalibur video encoder chip but it will also fit on any other revision motherboard as well. The adapter set does require you to solder 4 wires from the ElectronAnalog to the upper adapter board.
KIT INCLUDES - 1 adapter board set (lower & upper,) new hardware (2 screws & 2 washers,) 6 inches of silicone insulated wire (color may vary,) and a 3D printed faceplate bezel.
Wii2HDMI (1.0-1.6)
This is a kit designed to install a Wii2HDMI circuit board inside of any Original Xbox (1.0-1.6).
KIT INCLUDES - 1 adapter board set (lower & upper,) new hardware (2 screws & 2 washers,) and 3 inches of silicone insulated wire (color may vary.)
HDMI ADAPTER BOARDS
These HDMI boards convert the component video signal (Y, Pb, and Pr) to an HDMI output.
ElectronAnalog
Please see Electron Shepherd's ElectronAnalog listing page for an up to date description of this item
I've reached an agreement with Electron Shepherd LLC to have these in stock here.
This makes it convenient for international orders, send in installation work orders, and even regular domestic orders from customers who are just looking to save a few dollars by combining their shipping of this kit into one order from one seller.
For Domestic orders this convenience is only for those ordering 1 or 2 units. Anymore than 2 and you might be paying more than you're saving. My recommendation is to price check between here and Electron Shepherd's site to make sure you are getting the best deal. Don't overpay for this part. I'm only stocking these for international, send in servicing, and small order convenience, not bulk.
Any troubleshooting support questions directly regarding the HDMI adapter should be handled by contacting Electron Shepherd directly. Just let him know that it was purchased through TK.
Install kit boards or install questions will be handled here, just message me.
If these show out of stock then more will be on order and should be available within a week. You are always welcome to buy direct from the Electron Shepherd site as well. My Qty will start out limited at first but if they sell well, my "on hand quantity" will be raised.
Wii2HDMI
Wii2HDMI uses Analog audio only.
When Wii2HDMI units come into the shop, they're test on a Nintendo Wii to make sure that they're good quality and operating properly. I've received bad batches in the past where the video has a red tint and/or has lines on the screen (see pic.) I make sure none of the units that are sold here have these defects and if bad ones are found they go back to the supplier. I take care of the testing to weed out the bad ones so you don't have to struggle to find a good one.
These adapters, from different sellers, can have different spacing between the HDMI port and the 3.5mm stereo audio jack. To ensure you get a faceplate bezel that matches the spacing of the Wii2HDMI that you're receiving, these adapters will come bundled with the matching 3D printed bezel faceplate.
"No Hole" Faceplate Bezel - I can send a version of the faceplate without the 3.5mm audio jack by request, if you prefer to remove it. This will be sent in place of the default version but you must request it from me at the time of check out and have your purchase order number ready for me so I can find and note your order with the request. Once the order is packed and you receive a tracking number, the request can not be made as the order will be then packed, sealed, and processed.
STL for the Faceplate Bezel
I support 3D printers that would like to print their own however due to a previous theft of the STL, from this listing page, by a competing seller, the STL link will NOT be publicly posted/linked here. I will share it upon request if you email or message me but ONLY if you have proof of a recent purchase order number from this site.
1.0 & 1.1 CAPACITOR REPLACEMENT
For 1.0 & 1.1 motherboards, you will need to remove the SMD aluminum electrolytic capacitor at the footprint marked "C5A4" because it'll get in the way of the new HDMI board. I offer 2 different replacement options here in this listing.
Tantalum
The tantalum capacitor is a more premium option for this application. It's a little bigger in size and therefore a little easier to work with during installation. It's polarized like the electrolytic cap that's originally in this location so you will need to take note of the positive and negative side. Electrolytic caps are marked on their ground (-) side whereas tantalum caps are marked on their positive (+) side so make sure you're putting it on in the correct orientation. (See picture or install guide for orientation)
Ceramic
The ceramic capacitor will work fine and can be put on without regard to orientation. Ceramic capacitors are not polarized.
MOTHERBOARD ALIGNMENT TOOL
This is a small 3D printed tool that uses the original A/V port screws. It has a back plate so you can align your lower adapter board with the points required to solder to and also align it with the edge of the motherboard. The screws will go through your lower adapter board & motherboard to tighten down and hold the lower adapter in place as you solder. This item is not 100% needed and alignment isn't too difficult if you pre-tin all the necessary points on the motherboard but it will help to hold the lower adapter board in place for a perfect alignment. This is a handy tool that can be used for many installs.
INSTALL GUIDE, SERVICE,
& VERIFIED INSTALLER LIST
You can find the PDF installation guide HERE.
You can find an installation video (by Madman Mondello) HERE.
If you aren't comfortable or confident in your skills for installing this yourself, please contact me or another verified installer to set up an Internal HDMI Install Send In Service.
(Verified Installer List can be found on the installation listing at this link.)
If I am doing your install, do not purchase your parts first and then contact me because a purchase will trigger a shipment and these parts will be sent out to the address on file within 24-48 hours. Instead, contact me first to set up the send in service and I will reserve your parts for you during our consultation. All send in services are billed after install, testing, and return shipping is calculated however your parts can be reserved today at no charge.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you attempt to install this yourself, mess it up, and ask me to fix it on a send in service, the service charge will be double. It takes a lot more work to safely disassemble this mod than to simply install it on a fresh board. If you are not 100% sure you can do this work, seek a professional installer. It will cost less in the long run.
