It is ALWAYS a good idea to open your DVD drive to verify which laser is inside of it before you order, especially if you are working with a Samsung or Phillips drive. That way you can get a good positive visual match before ordering the part.
When installing these, make sure to inspect and compare the old laser and the new laser. You will notice pads on the new laser that have a solder blob where they have been removed from the old laser. This is ESD protection for transport. DO NOT FORGET to remove this ESD protection from the new laser or you will fry it. If you fail to remove ESD protection and you fry the laser, I will not return the item. After this protection is removed, the laser should only be handled with proper ESD protection (grounded wrist strap) as they are highly sensitive to ESD damage. (Electrostatic Discharge)
This is not an amateur job. If you are unsure of your skills to perform this install please contact me or a local professional to do this job for you.
