Modded For Faster Transfer Speeds & Reliability

Solder - These adapters generally come in to the shop very poorly assembled (soldered). The adapters available in this listing have been extensively inspected, cleaned up, and tested. All through-hole solder points and all tacky SMD components have been reflowed and attached to the board properly.

Resistors - The 2 older models, JP103-5 and RXD-629A7-7, used to have these 2 resistors (@ R4 and RH1) on them but for some reason the manufacturers stopped putting them on when they switched to the current version. These new VER:M03E adapters have been modified and configured to the same component configuration as the old ones were, with the proper value resistors and caps in place. Without these resistors (as it comes new) the VER:M03E will only max out at UDMA 5 (100 MB/s) but with these 2 resistors added it will stably run UDMA 6 (133 MB/s). Adding these resistors also cuts the initial boot time by around half.

Capacitors - The 2 capacitors that are on them when they're new are very cheap and poor quality caps. The original caps have been removed and replaced with high quality polymer capacitors. This creates better stability in it's power for better reliability. These caps are available separately if you have one of these adapters of your own that you would like to upgrade.

Isolation Barrier - I've attached a foam rubber backing to isolate the adapter from the housing of the hard drive. Without some kind of separation they can make contact with the hard drive and short the power with possible damage to the hard drive and/or the Xbox's power supply.

Hardware Requirements - No IDE to SATA adapter runs well, if at all, in an OG Xbox without an 80 wire ultra-IDE cable. If it actually does fire up on the original 40 wire cable, that cable will affect its performance and reliability. If you need 80 wire ultra-IDE cables, don't forget to grab that too!!
