For this service, I clean the heatsinks and processors of ALL the old paste so as not to insulate heat in the processors or prevent the new paste from doing its job properly. I use Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste and a spreader to get an even coat of paste across the entire heatsink for maximum heat dispersal.
