SERVICE: Capacitor Replacement - FULL DVD Drive

Original Xboxes are around 20 years old which is the average life of a standard capacitor. Capacitors age over time, losing the ability to perform their job. The electrolyte, paper, and aluminum foil inside the capacitor degrades physically and chemically. OG Xbox was also manufactured during a time in capacitor manufacturing known as the Capacitor Plague era. Because of this information it's highly recommend that all OG Xboxes get a FULL recap to ensure the best performance into the future.

This service is for every capacitor on the Motherboard/Power supply/DVD drive (both "through-hole" and/or "surface mount") to be professionally removed and replaced with new capacitors. I use hot tweezers for surface mount caps and a desoldering gun for the through-hole caps. This service is for labor only and does not include capacitors or the cost of capacitors. At this current time I am not stocking all the different capacitors needed to perform a full recap of the different Motherboard versions/Power supplies versions/DVD drives, however Console5 sells kits for all of the different revisions of Motherboards, Power supplies, and DVD drives.

For this service to be put into action we will need to identify the exact parts you have and then you can order from Console5 and have them sent directly to me or I can order them for you and add them to your invoice. My site charges me additional fee's on sales so there will be a small markup if I do the ordering. I will help you to identify the motherboard/power supply/DVD drive in our service consultation before you ship your parts to me, if you have the ability to open your console. I also have links under the "Resources" tab in the navigation bar of this site for "Revision Identification" to get a guess of what motherboard and other parts are in the box by the info on the serial number sticker. If you don't have the ability to open the console I will identify them when they arrive in the shop and let you know what to order or you can agree on a slight markup and I can just order them for your project.
